RC Release of Titanium SDK 8.2.0 and GA Release of Appcelerator CLI 7.1.1

RC Release

Today, we published a Release Candidate version of the Axway Titanium SDK and the General Availability version of the Appcelerator CLI. The Titanium SDK is a minor release and the CLI is a patch release. For a more detailed overview, known issues and closed tickets, see the release notes:

Update Titanium SDK

To update the Titanium SDK from the command line:

[appc] ti sdk install --branch 8_2_X -d

To roll back:

[appc] ti sdk select latest

Update Axway Appcelerator CLI:

Studio users will be prompted to update the CLI node package and core.

To update the CLI node package and core from the command line:

[sudo] npm install -g appcelerator
appc use latest

Known issues

  • CLI: Unable to see project files in Chrome debugger on Windows. ALOY-1696
  • Hyperloop: Hyperloop example with Xcode 11 throws error on pod. TIMOB-27362

Report Bugs

If you run into any issues that seem related to the updates, please report them on JIRA.

First, check if it’s a known issue you can watch. If you can’t find an existing ticket, then create one in the
Appcelerator Community (AC) project and add as much relevant information as you can, including the release version you are using.

  1. Having a problem with iOS 13 and the Admob Module. With iOS 13 it opens interstitial ads in the new modal style window so you can see the app behind it. I do not think it should be like this.

    • Hello, and thank you your comment. For iOS, yes, we will announce compatibility with iOS 13 when we release SDK 8.2.0 GA. We plan on providing Day 1 support which is expected next week. We will also update the Titanium Compatibility Matrix at that time. Regarding Android, the upcoming Titanium SDK 8.3.0 will support “targeting” Android Q. For now, use Titanium 8.1.x which is backward compatible on Android Q. SDK 8.3.0 release is planned later this fall.
