The South Florida JavaScript Group December Meeting will be on Thursday, Dec 16th at 7pm.

One of the presentations covered relates to mobile development using Appcelerator’s Titanium Platform. Also to note is that one of our Professional Services Engineer, Rick Blalock, is planning on attending and can help answer any questions. There will also be Appcelerator schwag that will be given out.

About the Presentation:

If you’ve not started looking into mobile development, it’s definitely time to push yourself to get into the space. Stephen Gilboy has stepped up to talk with the group about leveraging your JavaScript skills for building mobile applications. He’ll go over the some of the tools that you need and show a demo of an application to demonstrate what’s possible.

Using your existing JavaScript skill set, it is possible to move into the Mobile arena pretty easily. In this presentation Stephen will briefly discuss some different options including targeted devices (iPhone, Android, Blackberry) and tools to use (Appcelerator Titanium, Phonegap, Mono).

After discussing the options, Stephen will walk through some of the Titanium environment and get right into some code

After we code a simple application, we’ll wrap up by seeing how Titanium makes it easy to submit applications to the Apple App Store and Android Marketplace
