Titanium 3.2.2 SDK Releases Same Day as iOS 7.1

Blog images

Today, Apple released iOS 7.1 with several notable fixes:

  • Touch ID fingerprint recognition is improved.
  • An occasional Home screen crash bug has been fixed.
  • iPhone 4 users will enjoy improved responsiveness and performance.

In conjunction with Apple’s release, we are pleased to announce our release of Titanium 3.2.2 SDK, which supports iOS 7.1. This update, among other fixes, adds compatibility with the iOS 7.1 simulator.

The full list of fixes can be found in the release notes.

On next restart of Studio, you will receive an automatic update prompt for the new version.

Note: Due to changes in Xcode 5.1, upgrading XCode will force you to upgrade all your projects to SDK 3.2.2 in order to run them on the iOS simulator. One solution is not to upgrade Xcode. Alternately, there is an easy workaround as detailed in TIMOB-16613.

We would like to thank our very active developer community for all the help and feedback they have provided us over the last months, which made it possible for us to once again provide a release the same day as one of our supported platforms.

  1. Just updated to SDK 3.2.2 and Xcode 5.1, but unable to launch Simulator anymore… I’ve tried to change run config, but 7.1 is not listed in iOS SDK list.

    [ERROR] : Invalid “–ios-version” value “7.0.3”
    7.1
    Accepted values:
    6.1
    7.1
For help, run: titanium help build
    [ERROR] : Invalid “–sim-version” value “7.0.3”

    • Can you provide more information to investigate the problem :

      – Output of the command “ti info -t ios”
      – Enable Debug Level to All in Preferences > Troubleshooting and then, run the app on iOS simulator. Provide the Studio log from Help > Studio > View log file.
      – Diagnostic logs from Help > Studio > Diagnostic log

    • In the the App Explorer just got to Run as > Run Configurations and change the iOS SDK and the Simulator version for all “Titanium iOS SImulator” instances.

  2. Installed SDK 3.2.2, and while I can launch simulator, I can’t perform “ad hoc” builds, or device builds.

Nothing apparently happens (no sign of activity, etc).

  3. I was getting the same thing. I was able to launch in the simulator by clearing out my iphone build directory, cleaning the project and then building from the command line. But if I try to build from the Studio run menu, I get the message again. I’m also running 3.2.1.201402041146.

  4. For those people with Xcode 7.0.3 issues, can you please comment on your specifics here? I’m curious if your project itself is using SDK 3.2.2 or an earlier SDK. We definitely had this issue with SDK 3.1.3 and iOS 7.0.3, but it should have been resolved in SDK 3.2.0+

    • Note, we appear to have discovered the issue. It’s likely due to an obsolete cache of the available simulators. Try the workaround posted at the end of TISTUD-5614.

  5. I don’t know if its an XCode thing, or a Titanium SDK thing, but one thing I noticed that is busted is that before, if you were loading a new window via the url message, you could go “back” (or close the window), make some changes, and then reopen it and those changes would take affect. Now, you have to run the build EVERY TIME.

  6. After the SDK 3.2.2 and Xcode 5.1 upgrade, I get the “Could not create the view: org.eclipse.php.ui.explorer” error. Nothing seems to work because of this error.

    • I assume you have the PHP plugin installed? Can you please file a ticket wit the contents of your log file?

  7. Installed SDK 3.2.2GA, Xcode Version 5.1 (5B130a)

I can’t run/test thru Simulator and had these errors.
