Welcome back to another edition of Titanium Livestream recap!
For the latest episode of our series, our host (and Developer Evangelist) Rene Pot covers an often overlooked, but very important topic: how to maximize the performance of your app in Alloy
Using live code, Rene demonstrates some techniques that users can replicate to make sure they’re properly optimized and getting the best performance possible out of their Titanium apps.
To get things started, Rene shares some tips and tricks that will improve rendering and load data as fast as possible. This includes his philosophy around how to approach rendering items in a ListView for certain situations, as well as when to use lazy-loading and pagination in order to provide a lightning-fast experience for users.
Next, Rene dives into how important it is to optimize performance for a good UX flow. He demonstrates a couple of common scenarios where developers can overlook this, and explains how (and when) to postpone and delay the loading of data to make everything feel much faster and smoother.
So, please watch the full episode above. You can also check out Rene’s most recent post in our Developer Blog on improving the performance of slow apps.
