Release Candidates for CLI 5.2, Titanium 5.2 and Studio 4.5

We have published Release Candidates (RC) for the Appcelerator CLI 5.2.0, Titanium SDK 5.2.0 and Appcelerator Studio 4.5.0. To help us get from RC to GA quickly, please give these RCs a try on as many projects possible.

We’d like to thank the Appcelerator Community members who contributed to this release.

Reporting Bugs

If you run into any issues that seem related to the updates, please report them on JIRA. First check if it’s a known issue you can watch. If you can’t find an existing ticket, then create one in the Appcelerator Community (AC) project and include as much relevant information as you can.

Appcelerator Studio

Get the RC of Studio by changing the update type to Release Candidate Build and then check for updates.

To roll back delete the RC version and download and install the latest stable version.

Appcelerator CLI

Get the RC of the Appcelerator CLI from the command line:

[sudo] npm install -g appcelerator@4.2.3-2
appc use 5.2.0-265

To roll back:

[sudo] npm install -g appcelerator
appc use latest

Titanium SDK

Get the RC of the Titanium SDK from the command line:

[appc] ti sdk install -d 5.2.0.v20160216202526

To roll back:

[appc] ti sdk select

Titanium & Alloy CLI

If you use the Appcelerator CLI, then the latest GA versions of the Titanium (5.0.6, 2016-01-14) and Alloy CLIs (1.7.33, 2016-01-15) will be included as part of that RC.

If you have been using the stand-alone Titanium CLI and haven’t updated them lately, then you can get these versions from the command line:

[sudo] npm install -g titanium alloy
